CELEBRATION OF CHRIST: JESUS, THE BREAD OF LIFE

Reflection on Today's Gospel Reading: JOHN 6:30-35

Bread is a universal food. It is the most affordable food in the world. The rich and the poor can easily afford a piece of bread. When Jesus was in the world he used the image of bread, the most stable and most affordable food to refer to himself as the Bread of Life. In the gospel of John     6:30-35 our Lord Jesus Christ told his followers, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.”Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Bread that nourishes our lives; the Bread that sustains our lives; the Bread that restores our lives. And indeed, the Bread that transforms our lives. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Inspirational Message: Jesus Christ is the Bread that sustains and nourishes our lives. He is indeed the Bread of life. With him, we shall not die of hungry.

Prayer against the spirit of Hunger: Lord Jesus Christ, you introduced yourself as the Bread of Life and indeed when you were in the world you fed so many hungry people with bread and fishes. Lord, we have so many hungry people in our society today, among them are those who could not even afford their daily bread due to the hardship in the land. Lord, as you continue to provide for the hungry ones may your name be glorifies forever in Jesus name - Amen!
