Christology: Jesus, the universal Messiah

One common mistake people often make is to think that Jesus is Messiah only to the Christians. He is the universal Messiah. He is Messiah even unto those who do not believe in him. Jesus himself was aware of this and that is why when he prayed he did not just pray for his followers, instead he said, “I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory which you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,
I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." Jesus prayed for the unity of his future believers and for the world as a whole. By so doing he proved to the world that He is indeed the Universal Messiah. One day, the whole will acknowledge him as their Messiah. To him be glory and praise both now and forevermore - Amen!

Inspirational Message:  Jesus Christ is not just a Messiah for particular sets of people. He is Messiah for the whole world. He is indeed our universal Messiah.

Prayer for the unity of the entire world: Heavenly Father, your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, did not just pray for the unity of his followers He also prayed for the unity of the whole world. Lord, deliver our world from discriminations and disunity. Make us one as you are one. Grant this through Christ our Lord - Amen!
